Parking Decks

Why coat a parking garage?

Applying coatings to your deck will prevent water draining on to parking levels below.  Over time the deck will crack, and water will find its way into these cracks.  What may not seem like an issue initially, it is actually causing the rebar to rust and lose its structural integrity.  In the winter the water will freeze and thaw causing the top cap of the concrete to pop creating huge potholes.  Using a heavy-duty elastomeric coating system the deck will have compliance to move but will not crack preventing water from causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in structural damage.

The coating system used on these decks is far more slip resistant than concrete.  The freezing and thawing of the water in the cracks will also cause the floors below to pop dropping chunks of concrete onto people below. The impermeable surface after being coated will prevent water from ever causing this problem.
